Partners in Ministry!

Our church family has many opportunities to get involved and serve God. Each ministry listed below has a contact person. Feel free to get in touch with them!

If you have a question this page doesn’t answer, please contact Barbara Sabbath (sabathsabby@gmail.com or 609-646-3271) and she will be happy to find the answer for you!

The acolyte ministry is for youth in 7th through 12th grades. The acolytes serve (candle lighting, etc.) at our traditional Sunday services in the sanctuary. Jenn Holcombe is the coordinator (theholcombes97@comcast.net).

Our pastor administers the sacrament of baptism to children and adults in the worship services. The baptism of children focuses on the parents/guardians and their responsibility of keeping the baptismal vows as an example to their child of God’s grace. Adult baptism is a public profession of faith made by the person being baptized. Regular (weekly) worship attendance is vital in the keeping of these vows. Contact the church office (609-641-1265 or abseconumc@comcast.net) for an informational packet.

Bible Studies

Numerous Bible and Christian book studies go on throughout the year. Men’s and women’s groups meet as well. They meet at the church building and in members’ homes. Contact the church office (609-641-1265 or abseconumc@comcast.net) for a complete list.

Communion Stewards

Our communion stewards set up the Sanctuary and the Great Hall for communion on the first Sunday of each month. Sharon Wilson (609-652-7978 or wilsonclam@comcast.net) is the steward to contact if you’d like to help.

We have a number of choirs to choose from:

Cherub Choir - (age 4 through 2nd grade) - sings most Sundays at the 10:45 service in the Sanctuary (September through April). Practice is held on Wednesdays from 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Chancel Choir - (grades 3 through 8) - sings twice per month at the 10:45 service in the Sanctuary (September through April). Practice is held on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:30.

Senior Choir - sings every Sunday at the 10:45 service in the Sanctuary (September through mid-June) and practices Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. They also perform an annual Christmas Cantata. Seasonal rehearsals for the Cantata are held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesdays, before regular Senior Choir practice.

Special Choruses - There are also special choruses who sing at special times throughout the year. Practice schedules are listed in the weekly Mainstay, which is handed out in worship.

Contact our Director of Music, Priscilla Cunningham (609-377-5718), if you’re interested in choir ministry.

Kids are dismissed from the worship service to the KidPraise classroom with the coordinator, Cassie Poulson (609-965-2989). Please contact Cassie if you'd like to learn more about this ministry.

Our Missions ministry: encourages and supports youth and adult mission trips; works in cooperation with UMW and Sunday School to support the Food Bank; holds food, coat and shoe drives; gathers health supplies for UMCOR; supports Delanco Camp; collects Christmas gifts for needy children; feeds the homeless in Atlantic City, and collects various donations for AC Rescue Mission.
