A Service of Remembrance, celebrating the life of Daniel Favara
Daniel D. Favara, 78 years old, of Galloway passed away on February 2, 2025, after a long, hard-fought challenge with illness.
He was born on May 13, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York to the late John Favara and Lucille (Florio) Favara. He graduated from Bloomfield College in 1968 which led to a 33-year career as a teacher in Hackettstown NJ. He served as head coach of the Hackettstown High School girls basketball team and served as an assistant coach to other sports at the high school level.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and attained the rank of Sergeant. Dan was a member of the Four Seasons Veterans Club and the United Methodist Church of Absecon. Dan was an avid runner throughout his teaching career and pursued other sports activities including golf, horseshoes, stickball, and billiards.
Dan was a loving husband and father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and their children; Bonnie (husband Ryan), Augusta, Georgia; Scott (wife Sarah), Columbus, Ohio. Also, 4 grandchildren: R.J, Lila, Miles and Leo.
The Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 100 Pitney Road, Absecon New Jersey on Monday, February 10 at 10 AM.
Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery.
