I Am the Good Shepherd - traditional service
May 10, 2026 • Reverend David L. Ledford, III
Jesus' words are often full of symbolism. He taught spiritual lessons by using real life imagery. He also didn't waste words. Every single word he spoke is carefully chosen, and important. So, when Jesus said "I am the Good Shepherd", every part of that has meaning. "I Am" claims his divinity. He said "THE" good shepherd, not "a" good shepherd. That has meaning. "Good", in put in direct contrast to "bad". And shepherds had been imagery used by God for centuries even before Jesus came. Let's dig deeper this Sunday!
